RUMOR: The Beatles Announced for Rock Band

According to Kotaku, MTV and Apple Corps will be holding a very special press conference from 2pm BST tomorrow where it is expected that in some way, Rock Band will welcome a very big band probably the biggest band that ever existed to it’s catologue, The Beatles.

The Fab Four, consisting of Sir Paul Mc’Cartney, John Lennon, Sir George Harrison and Ringo Starr, have held out on any of the big digital brands of today such as computer games or even Apple’s iTunes although that may have come down to a lawsuit of the use of name between the record company and the same company that make computers which has long since been settled.

Press release is after the jump.

IF… and only if this is true which is starting to look like it is, The Beatles are the first big band to join Rock Band as a seperate Rock Band entry (We assume it’ll be seperate then adding the whole album catalogue on the Rock Band shop to buy for Rock Band 2 when it’s released on the Xbox 360 on November 21st) but are 3rd in seperate entitys for either Rock Band or Guitar Hero combined after Guitar Hero: Aerosmith earlier in the year and Guitar Hero: Metalica which was recently announced.

The only remaining big bands to licence music in a game is Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin (To my memory) with certain bands who may yet recieve seperate entrys to the music games like Rock Band or Guitar Hero like The Bealtes above, Pink Floyd, Led Zep or, and in my honest opinion this needs to be done asap, Radiohead.

We’ll find out tomorrow, eh?
