OPM Give World Exclusive First Review of Metal Gear Solid 4

Posted in Uncategorized on May 12, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

Issues of the next OPM have hit subscribers this morning, the important bit of the issue? The review of some game which looks…OK looking, something called Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Naturally, it was given a perfect 10 and if I remember correctly, this is the magazine’s 7th 10 with only the 6th coming just last month in the shape of Grand Theft Auto IV with that and MGS4 joinging the 10′s club with such great games as Final Fantasy XII for the Playstation 2, Oblivion for the PS3 and many many more.

While they did play with MGS4, they didnt play the full verison of Metal Gear Online 2 (The beta ended last night) but will review it in the next issue. And before you panic as to if there is spoilers of the story in the review, dont panic, according to the scans over at N4G, there aint no spoilers.

The issue is going to subscribers now but the issue will be on general sale from this Friday. Oh, did you know I was in the last issue of OPM?

Must get the scan out.

Microsoft Gamer’s Day: Viva Pinata 2 Screens Also Leak, Scene It? 2 and…Lips? Plus Title for BK3?

Posted in Uncategorized on May 12, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

Ladies and gentleman, we regret to inform people who didnt like the first game that there is Viva Pinata 2 and its coming tomorrow at Microsoft’s Gamers Day. While a title for it hasnt been announced yet, screens have leaked (along with Banjo) of the game which is apparently going to be shown for the first time at the Gamers Day tomorrow. I really liked the 1st Viva Pinata but due to a lack of funds for a game I really wanted (Call of Duty 4 or Halo 3 was the game, one of them 2 I think), had to trade it.

More screens below.

EDIT: It seems it did get a title, Trouble in Paradise. However, unlike Party Animals, this looks like a geniune sequel to Viva Pinata.

As well as that, it seems that new games will be shown off at the event in San Fran (Their bestest friend in the whole world, Peter Moore, lives and works there now with EA. Any one want to put a bet on to see if he turns up tomorrow, double if he gets stagetime?) including a sequel to Seen? It as well as new games called Ninja Blade and…the prize for the worst name for a game ever, weirdest anyways, is…LIPS!!! Yes…Lips…

Also, we just got word of 2 things concerning Banjo Kazooie 3.

1 – Rare has spoken out for the first time since the embargo was broken. Their community manager, George Keilon, has spoken to Videogamer 24/7 about it.

“You can’t tell altogether that much from the screenshots other than the fact that it’s pretty. We haven’t revealed the gameplay mechanic yet, which is the crown jewel of the game. So people really are better off waiting until tomorrow when we’ll be revealing it in-depth.”

Rare on Banjo: “Crown jewel gameplay mechanic” to be shown in US tomorrow [Videogaming 24/7

2 - According to Dutch gaming website, Gamed, there is a title for the game.

Microsoft Gamer’s Day: Banjo Kazooie 3 – THE First Screens

Posted in Uncategorized on May 12, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

Aaaaaand the embargo is no more.

On Microsoft’s press site, there is folders there for the games which will be shown at Microsoft’s Gamers Day tomorrow in San Francisco which includes a new Viva Pinata, a sequel to Seen It? and, brace yourself, a game…called Lips…(more on them in a minute). But unlike them games, whos folders were empty, there was one folder which contained up to 12 screens.

And that game? Banjo Kazooie 3 otherwise codenamed Banjo Thereeie by Rare (The X06 trailer which shows the game is now on the YouTube channel but I’ll post it below the screens.)

From what we have seen of the screens, they looks absoutely fantastic and we’re sure that when the game launches near Christmas, it’ll look even more better then it does now…so what the hell are we waiting for? SCREEENS!!!

GameTrailers Are Showing a Whole Lot of Biasism on Their Front

Posted in Uncategorized on May 10, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

Well well, it seems the meaning “Everybody Has a Price” has never seemed so true then today. GameTrailers are deleting threads on their forums and have disabled their contact emails. Why? It’s because of a comparison to Race Driver: GRiD between the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 which they have now taken off the site, however, someone was good enough to post it on YouTube.

Now what is this controversay about? Its about how they said the 360 verison’s crash physics are better then the PS3 verison…except, when they showed the control scheme of it, they didn’t show the 360 verison, they showed the PS3 verison instead.

And now, it is showing that GT has being showing biasism towards Microsoft and Xbox 360 for a while now.

Hmm, thoughts? I’ll be posting mines tomorrow on the Members Blog.

Gears of War 2 Gameplay Shown for the First Time Ever. Gameplay + Screens Coming

Posted in Uncategorized on May 10, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

Gears of War 2 finally made its grand debut last night on Game Trailers TV and on 1UP. The game was announced at GDC 2008 and it’ll have main character Marcus Fenix return to the game as well as Dom Santiago but there will be no Cole or Baird beside you (But they will be in the game) with 2 new characters.

In the footage, we saw new features such as taking a Locust hostage before we see Marcus snapping its neck. As well as that, chainsaw are now inserted into the torso of the body (Just as such like the GDC trailer). And just as it was previously thought, there IS chainsaw duels in the game.

If a Locust just manages to get ready in time, a chainsaw duel is activated right away just before you chainsaw him. To win it, you must keep tapping B. We then see the monster which were promised to fight against in Gears 2 by lead designer after only getting to see it near the end of Gears 1 (If you have the PC verison of Gears, you sirs, are jammy bastards as you get to properly fight it)…the BRUMAK!

The COG take on the Brumak and eventually win and its pretty much where we leave the footage. Lead Designer at Epic Games and Gears of War 2 itself, Cliff “Cliffy B” Blitzinski said that the Locust are now able to destroy an entire city by swalling it because of the sheer size of the army of Locust that survived the Lightmass bomb explosion at the end of Gears 1, stating that they’ve sent a force that can sink entire citys “and its not just small Emergence Holes, its an entire city going down at once”

We have screens right below and the gameplay footage. But we’ve also uploaded the debut trailer onto our YouTube page which is just right after the screens.

BANJO IS BACK!!! NEXT WEEK!

Posted in Uncategorized on May 9, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

According to Videogaming 24/, the new verison of Banjo Kazooie being developed by Rare for a christmas release for the Xbox 360 will be shown at the Gamers Day being held by Microsoft on Tuesday, just a week after Sony held theirs.

An embargo of a press event showing off the game to selected press only will be lifted as well with assets to the press which will be released as of Tuesday May 13th at 5pm (Also known as this Tuesday)

We’re also expecting to hear that Microsoft will be bringing out a Motion Sensitive controller to the market, following that of Nintendo’s Wiimote and Sony’s SIXAXIS.

However, I dont really care if they bring out goggles which puts you in the eyes of Master Chief, I just want to see Banjo for fuck sake!!!

BANJO IS BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! =D

Confirmed: Banjo assets due May 13th, 5pm BST [Videogaming 24/7]
