NPD have released the final numbers of the year with their results for the month of November 2008 and surprise, surprise, Nintendo rules the roost again.

The Wii sold over 2,000,000 million units (yes, that is right, two million!) while the Nintendo DS sold just over 1.5 million units which means combined, they make up 3.5 million units sold for Nintendo in November.

Meanwhile, on the HD console front, the Xbox 360 won on that front as well as the Software charts overall. The 360 sold just over 835,000 units all thanks to the worldwide launch of Gears of War 2 which won the Software charts with the game shipping over 1.5 million units sold.

Posted in PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , , , , on December 11, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

final-fantasy-xiii-4So, a couple of scans from Dengeki’s “Cloud Message” have leaked already and yet it seems that there is something interesting in the works already concerning Final Fantasy XIII.

In a scan in the magazine (shown after the jump), a concept image is shown of a character near the top right of the board who hasn’t been seen yet, it’s pretty much confirmed by the fact the image is blurred.

And by the looks of it, it ain’t Lightning, Snow or Pigtails Girl.

The scan plus new info is after the jump.

Resident Evil 5 Rated 18 by the BBFC

Posted in PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , , , , on December 11, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

re5

We just took a look around the BBFC website to see if there was any game classifications given recently and it turns out there has been, two of them.

One of which is Resident Evil 5.

The game has been given a 18 by the BBFC according to a listing which popped up on December 9th which was Tuesday.

It means that Resident Evil 5 has a garned a higher BBFC rating then that of Resident Evil 5 when it got a BBFC 15 when it was released firstly on the GameCube before being released on the PlayStation 2.

By the looks of the demo, the game may just deserve that 18 considering it’s gore is certainly gory.

Only last month, we revealed that Resistance 2 was given a BBFC 18 for it’s gore and in the same search for Resident Evil 5, we discovered that Killzone 2 was given the exact same rating, an 18.

The game is out on Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 in North America and Europe on March 13th.

Killzone 2 Rated 18 by the BBFC

killzone-2-2

We just took a look around the BBFC website to see if there was any game classifications given recently and it turns out there has been, two of them.

One of which is Killzone 2.

The game has been given an 18 by the BBFC according to a listing which popped up on December 4th which was last Thursday.

The 1st game was not given a BBFC rating when it was released in 2004 for the PlayStation 2 and was given a 16 PEGI rating.

We can perfectly understand the 18 rating for Killzone 2, if our hands on impressisons of the beta are anything, the rating is understandable.

Only last month, we revealed that Resistance 2 was given an 18 due to it’s gory nature and while we dont think Killzone 2 will be as gory, we do think it will be a harsh reailty of war.

Game’s out in February 09.

According to EGM’s Quaterman, Gears of War 3 is in development already by Epic Games for the Xbox 360 (and not for the PLAYSTATION 3 like a couple hoped for).
