E3 2009: RUMOR: Killing Day to Set to Return Thanks to Trademark Fillin

Killing Day

At Sony’s E3 press conference back at E3 2005, Ubisoft showed a brand new FPS known as Killing Day, which looked pretty impressive if we do say so ourselves.

And then Ubisoft canned it. But now, four years since that reveal at E3 2005, is Killing Day set to make another appearence? Yes, if a new trademark filling is right.

As far as we know, this wont be shown at E3, too short of a notice. We’d hinge a guess on GameCon in Cologne in August or Tokyo Games Show in September. Keep an eye out till then, but no E3 reveal I’m afraid. As far as platforms go, we’ll say PS3 and 360.

Mass Effect 2

You have to say “oh my god” everytime you see brand new Mass Effect 2 footage, there is absolutely no chance of it failing now. Plus, the interesting sub-plot: is Shepard dead (or in our case, is Naomi Shepard dead?)? We’ll get the answers to these and more next week when the full blown trailer is released, but till then, the teaser is out and it throws more questions then answers.

Check it after the jump. Game’s out next year for Xbox 360.

square-enix

We missed this in the influx of MGS5 and Tetsuya Nomura stories that came up throughout Wednesday night. Square Enix has announced a port of Final Fantasy XI for the PLAYSTATION 3, according to Dengeki. The MMORPG was already on the Xbox 360 since 2006, but now XI comes to the PS3 in the run up to Final Fantasy XIII.

Final Fantasy XI was already released in Japan and US for the PlayStation 2, but not in Europe till the Xbox 360 release. But now with a European PS release incoming, it now means all XIII Final Fantasy games will be on the PS in some form in Europe.

It did take nearly 3 years though. Not a patch on XIII coming to 360 though.

Prison Break’s Wentworth Miller to Bust Out of Rapture

bioshock

Since being postponed in April, things have gone quiet on the BioShock movie front, but now it seems to have lightened up again thanks to a certain Michael Schofield.

Prison Break’s Wentworth Miller has a seriously big hint as to his involvement in the BioShock movie. It comes as Prison Break wrapped up for the final time on British TV last night, but Miller did say:

Prison Break may be ending, but I’ve got things in the works. Hint…one word: Bioshock.

So, there you have it. We’ve pegged it as rumor just to be safe, but hey, cant go wrong can it? The movie was originally to be out at the end of next year to meet up with BioShock 3, BioShock 2 is out this October/November.

EU PlayStation Blog Opens Up for Business

Posted in PlayStation 3 with tags , , , , on May 28, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

ps3The European PlayStation Blog has finally opened up this afternoon.

The first post came from Contributing Editor Charlotte Large in which she welcome everyone to the blog and how this and the US PS Blog, which everyone has acustomed to, will be working side by side, but also be different in their own ways.

Some news is bigger than SCEE though, so where appropriate we’ll be coordinating efforts with Jeff and Chris from the US blog on major announcements.

It seems interesting. Go check it out.
