kojima

Hideo Kojima is due to give a keynote later this evening, giving an insight of development in Japanese developers as well as an insight to the development of Metal Gear Solid 4. But thats it, anyone hoping for a reveal of his next game, just turn around now, it aint happening.

Once again, no livetext but if there is any news coming out of it, we’ll let you know. That said, should he actually show his new game somehow (yes, we’re hypecriticial), we’ll have it ready to publish the second it’s announced (if the game is what we think it is).

Now, to set up that story!

GDC 2009: RUMOR: Infinity Ward Drop Call of Duty from Modern Warfare 2 According to Keighley

So Keighley’s Gears 2 type megaton game was revealed to be and, as much as we’re looking forward to it, it was a whimper. But hey, as long as it keep the momentum of Call of Duty 4, thats fine, except it wont be keeping one thing: the Call of Duty title.

It was somewhat bewildering that there was no Call of Duty title at the end of the trailer, just Modern Warfare 2 at the end of the trailer, so, where is it? Well according to, guess who, Geoff Keighley, it’s gone motherfuckers!

There can be no doubt! But apparently it’s not CALL OF DUTY. Just “Modern Warfare 2.”

So, whats the story here, is Call of Duty dropped from all Infinity Ward games now? Or is Modern Warfare a strong enough game to warrant its own series away from Call of Duty? Well, we do know one thing, there may not be a Call of Duty come November 10th when it’s release for PS3 and 360.

GDC 2009: RUMOR: The Last Remnant for PS3 Canned?

Having been out since November on the Xbox 360, plus a digital PC release on Steam last week and a retail release coming next month, you gotta wonder (if there is anyone out there wondering…) where the fuck is The Last Remannt on the PLAYSTATION 3?

Well, Square Enix hasnt come out and actually said it, but during a joint panel with Epic Games, where they talk about using the Unreal Engine 3 for TLR and being all loved up about, Wired’s Chris Kohler asked a question which maybe on some minds of PS3 games everywhere:

The Last Remnant, was originally announced to be Square Enix’s first multi-platform game. But the PlayStation 3 version hasn’t come out yet. Is it still happening?

… *cue tumbleweed*

Well nothing was being said until Square’s Hiroshi Takai jumped and fielded the question, he said:

Well, as for the PS3 version, I can’t say anything about that.

What do you think, canned?

We think canned.

GDC 2009: Fumito Ueda Drops Hints at Team ICO Game

Posted in GDC 2009, PlayStation 3 with tags , , , , on March 26, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

Anybody expecting the Team ICO announcement at GDC? Boy, you in for a surprise.

Naturally, we didnt hear anything coming out of the panel which involved Fumito Ueda of Team ICO as well as Suda 51′s newest game, but there was however a pretty big hint dropped from Ueda-san concerning his team’s next big game.

“I think there are Sony Japan bosses are here, so I better not say too much. Probably, it will be similar to… umm… well, the essence of the game is similar to ICO.”

Damn! So, no dice on the Team ICO game as yet, but at least we got something out of it, no matter how small, so expect a reveal at E3.

As for Suda 51, even though we knew this a while back, he confirmed that his partner from Grasshopper Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil, was making a horror game for EA.

As for Suda’s own game being done with the help of Epic, nothing yet.

You know that Gears 2 type megaton Geoff Keighley promised a couple of hours ago? Well, it’s finally touched ground and surprise surprise, the game is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

A trailer has just been shown to the crowd at the end of the GDC awards, the trailer gone live on GameTrailers according to Keighley, you can find it here.

Keighley also twittered too that it’s coming November 11th 2009 for PS3 and 360.

The teaser just shows a green line which morpths itself towards a couple of things, along with voices in the trailer. Men go into an elevator, get kitted out, guns cocked and take over a civilian area, by the sound of it, it maybe an airport.

No gameplay footage but there was gameplay stills at the end of the trailer, followed then by the logo of the game which didnt even carry the Call of Duty logo, basiclly saying Modern Warfare 2, followed then by a date at the end of the trailer, 11.11.09 (November 11th 2009).

We would post the trailer but all we can embed from is YouTube and it seems Activision and Infinity Ward are pulling the trailer from the site so for now, you’ll have to do with a link from GameTrailers. Hopefully, we’ll have the trailer up on the YouTube page, whenever Acti and Infinity Ward stop pulling the trailer off YouTube.

kojima

Anyone of you praying that tomorrow, Hideo Kojima will not only talk about this new game but also show it during his GDC keynote? Get off the floor you fucking fool!

Kojima has said in an IGN interview that the reveal for his next game, be that Metal Gear Solid 5, Zone of the Enders 3 or otherwise, will be at E3 hence ruling out a reveal during his keynote speech tomorrow. That said, although he wont be showing it or revealing it, it wouldnt be out of the question for Kojima to drop a hint or two as to what it is, we’ll see tomorrow.

Kojima is also getting a lifetime achievement award during the awards ceremony that happens during GDC.

Update: Okay mucks, anybody who wants it to be Kojima’s next one, dont bother. He’s said in an interview with IGN that a reveal for his next game will be at E3, click here for more info.

Also, GOONL!NE strongly now believes that it could be one of these three games.

- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – Reveal Trailer
- Assassins Creed 2 – Reveal Trailer
- Mass Effect 2 – Big fucking trailer

Update 2: He’s just updated it saying:

“If you’re at GDC you’ll definitely want to attend the awards tonight at 6:30. You may be pleasantly surprised.”

This is most likely where this big announcement will happen.

Update 3: It’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2!

Original Story: Another update from Geoff Keighley on his Twitter, everyone thought that a new Zelda for the DSi was the big surprise he was referring to.
